Photosynthesis
- The process by which a plant converts sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide into glucose and oxygen. The glucose is the food source of the plant, while the oxygen is only a by-product and is released into the atmosphere. Such plants include cacti, the main focus of our project.
Biodegradable
- Something capable of being decomposed by bacteria and other organisms, such as cacti.
Contaminants
- A polluting or poisonous substance that makes something impure. Cacti gel helps remove these impurities.
This project had many ups and downs. These 'ups' consisted of picking a topic that we knew we could do, and being on time. In the past, we have picked projects that have been to hard to actually do in a high school environment, and setting our expectations this high wasn't healthy. This time, however, we picked a topic that we knew we could work on effectively. Secondly, we were always on time. We never needed extra time to work and we ready to present when needed.
The downs include my personal amount of effort and goofing around. I didn't work directly on the project as much as I have in the past, and as such, my group mates were responsible for more of the project. This goes hand in hand with my other down; the goofing around. I spent too much time off task when I should have been assisting my group.
